The Madan Mohan Bari is a very important temple located in the middle of the town of Cooch Behar. The temple was constructed in between 1885 and 1889 by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan. Inside the
temple, deities of Ma Kali, temple, houses a beautiful pond and a magnificent gate in front of the pond. Lord Madan Mohan, Ma Bhavani and Ma Tara can be found. During the festival of Raas Jatra every year, the Raas Puja is performed along with the Raas Mela being held which is often considered one of the biggest North Bengal festivals.
Sagardighi is one of "Great Ponds" in the heart of Cooch Behar (Cooch Behar district), West Bengal, India. The name means an ocean-like pond, exaggerated in view of its great significance. As well as being popular with people, it also attracts migratory birds each winter.
It is surrounded by many important administrative buildings, like District Magistrates Office, Administrative Building of North Bengal State Transport Corporation, BSNL's DTO Offiec on the West; Office of the Superintendent of Police, District Library, Municipality Building on the South, Office of BLRO, Sate Bank of India's Cooch Behar Main Branch and many other on the East and RTO office, Foreigner's registration office,District Court etc. on the North.
